Your data stays
on your PC.
This policy covers the Leasha desktop app for Windows. It is short because the app collects nothing: everything it reads stays on your computer.
Last updated 11 October 2026.
The short version
- Leasha runs on your PC. Your files, mail, photos, contacts and the search index are stored there and nowhere else.
- Leasha Ltd has no server for the app and receives none of your data. There is no account and no telemetry.
- If you connect a Google or Microsoft account, its mail and contacts come straight to your PC. They are never sold, used for advertising or used to train AI models.
- You can disconnect an account, or delete everything Leasha stored, at any time.
1. Who we are
Leasha is made by Leasha Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17455339. Registered office: 93 Apex Apartments, Ifield Road, Crawley, RH11 7PD. Email [email protected].
This policy is about the app. Our website has its own privacy notice.
2. What the app reads on your computer
The folders, Outlook data files, photos, recordings and code you choose. Leasha builds a search index from them on your own disk. It never changes, moves or deletes your files; the Tidy page moves a file to the Recycle Bin only after you approve it.
3. Google and Microsoft accounts
Connecting an account is optional. If you do, you sign in with the provider in your own browser and approve what Leasha may access:
| Account | What Leasha asks for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your name and email address | To show which account is connected. | |
| See, edit, create and delete your contacts | To keep your address book in step in both directions. A change reaches Google only when you make it in Leasha, for example by editing or merging a contact. | |
| Read your Gmail messages and settings (read only) | To search your mail on your PC. Leasha cannot send, change or delete mail. | |
| Microsoft | Your profile | To show which account is connected. |
| Microsoft | Read and write your contacts | As for Google: your address book kept in step, changed only by what you do in Leasha. |
| Microsoft | Read your mail | To search your mail on your PC. Leasha cannot send, change or delete mail. |
| Microsoft | Keep access you have given | So a scheduled sync can run without asking you to sign in each time. |
| Apple, IMAP, CardDAV | An app password you create | To fetch mail and contacts from that server. It is kept in Windows Credential Manager. |
How it is used
To let you search your mail on your PC, and to keep your contacts the same in Leasha and in your account. Leasha writes to an account only to save contact changes you make in Leasha. It never sends, changes or deletes mail.
Where it is stored
On your PC, in Leasha's data folder. The sign-in keys are kept in Windows Credential Manager.
Who it is shared with
No one. Your data travels only between your PC and the provider's own servers, over encrypted connections. It never passes through Leasha Ltd, and no person at Leasha Ltd can see it.
4. Google user data
Leasha's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular, Leasha does not sell Google user data, does not use or transfer it for advertising, does not use it to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and does not allow any person to read it.
5. Optional features that use the internet
Each is off until you switch it on, and each sends only what it needs:
- AI models. Downloaded once from Hugging Face when you choose. They then run on your PC.
- Web look-up in Chat. Sends only the short search question shown to you, never a file name, a passage or your mail, to the search service you choose.
- Contact details from the web. Sends only the detail being looked up, such as a company's web address, to Gravatar, the company's own site or Wikidata. Nothing is kept until you accept it.
6. Keeping and deleting your data
Everything stays on your PC until you delete it.
- To disconnect an account: in Leasha, Settings > Accounts. You can also remove Leasha's access at Google or Microsoft (work and school accounts: My Apps).
- To delete what Leasha stored: use Reset in Leasha, or uninstall it and delete its data folder (by default %LOCALAPPDATA%\Leasha\Data).
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its date. If a change affects how the app uses data from your accounts, the app will ask you before it applies.
8. Your rights and questions
Because the app's data stays on your PC, Leasha Ltd holds none of it. If you have a question or a concern, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
